AFK Fishing Bot FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to have Minecraft open to use the AFK Fishing Bot?
No. The bot is a headless Minecraft client, so it connects to the server on its own without a running Minecraft instance. You can close your game and the bot keeps fishing.
How do I start the bot and get it fishing?
Start it with the GUI, or with command-line arguments if you'd rather skip the GUI. Enter your account and the server, then connect. The bot needs a fishing rod and stands where it joined, so make sure it ends up next to water.
Does the AFK Fishing Bot work in offline mode or on cracked servers?
Yes, it supports both online and offline mode. Pick the mode that matches your account and server. If the server needs a login command, you can set the bot to run commands automatically after connecting.
Can the bot connect to Realms and different Minecraft versions?
Yes. It can connect to every relevant Minecraft version, and Realms are supported too. You don't have to match a client version yourself, because the bot is its own client.
How do I check the bot's level and see what it caught?
Type /level in the bot console to see its current level. The bot also announces loot and level-ups, and it can send those announcements to a Discord channel if you set that up.
How do I send commands to the bot?
In the bot console, type commands with a leading slash, such as /help or /level. On the server, another player can write the bot's account username, then a comma, then the command. The console also works for chatting as the bot.
My bot stopped catching fish. What should I try first?
Use /stuck to make the bot cast its rod again. If it still catches nothing, check that it is still connected and that its fishing rod is still in its inventory.
How do I empty the bot's inventory without losing its fishing rod?
Use /empty with a direction, written as /empty [DIRECTION]. It drops the whole inventory except the fishing rod. Use it when the bot's inventory is full of loot.
How do I reduce the load the bot puts on my server?
Set up auto-disconnect in the bot's settings so it leaves by itself instead of fishing forever. That way it isn't connected when nobody needs it.
How do I safely stop the bot?
Type /bye in the console. The bot disconnects from the server and shuts down cleanly. Use this instead of just closing the window.
