Aetherial Coronet FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I put a halo on myself?
Type `/halo show @s ring_default` in chat to attach the default clock-ring halo to your character. Replace `ring_default` with any other halo definition name if you want a different style.
Can I put halos on mobs or just players?
You can attach halos to any entity—players, mobs, animals, and even custom creatures. Use `/halo show @e[type=creeper]` to target specific mob types, or `/halo show @a` to give halos to all players at once.
How do I see what halos are available?
Type `/halo list` in chat to see all loaded halo definitions in your world. This shows every halo design available from the mod and any custom ones you've added via data packs.
Why is my halo floating in the wrong spot on my head?
Use the `experimentalYsmHeadLocalOffset` config setting to adjust the three-axis offset parameters and reposition the halo. This is especially useful if you're using a mod that changes head positioning or a custom player model.
Can I make a halo that spins faster or moves differently?
Yes—create a custom halo JSON file in your data pack and use sine, cosine, or linear mathematical functions to control rotation speed and movement on any axis. Each layer can have its own independent animation.
What's the difference between the rotation modes?
Head-following mode locks the halo to your character's head rotation, free floating keeps it stationary in space, and hybrid mode syncs both together. Choose the mode in your halo's JSON definition depending on the visual effect you want.
Can I stack multiple halos on one character?
The mod supports multi-layer halos with different textures and scales on a single character, but you can only attach one halo definition at a time per entity. Design your halo with multiple layers in the JSON if you want a complex stacked effect.
Do halos work with resource packs?
Yes—you can customize halo textures and designs through resource packs or data packs. Place your custom halo JSON files in the appropriate data pack folder to load them into your world.
Will halos cause lag if I put them on lots of entities?
Halos are optimized for smooth animation, but attaching them to hundreds of entities at once may impact performance depending on your hardware. Test with a reasonable number of entities first.
How do I remove a halo from someone?
Type `/halo hide @s` to remove the halo from yourself, or `/halo hide ` to remove it from any other entity—for example, `/halo hide @a` removes halos from all players.
