Extending AE2 Wireless Range to Infinity with the Infinity Range Booster

What the Infinity Range Booster is for

The Infinity Range Booster removes the normal distance limit on AE2 wireless access. Normally a wireless terminal only reaches a certain number of blocks from the ME Controller or a Wireless Access Point, and you have to chain boosters or build access points to cover a large base. The Infinity Range Booster lets a single terminal reach the network from anywhere in the same dimension.

How to apply it

1. Craft the Infinity Range Booster.

2. Open the wireless terminal you want to upgrade.

3. Place the Infinity Range Booster into the terminal's upgrade slots, alongside any other cards you use (crafting card, etc.).

4. Close the GUI and walk far away from your base — well beyond the normal wireless range.

5. Open the terminal. It should still show your ME network contents.

Combining with the Dimension Card

The Infinity Range Booster handles distance within one dimension. If you also want the terminal to work after you step into the Nether or the End, add the Dimension Card to the same terminal. The two cards cover different problems: one is range, the other is dimension.

Notes

  • The network still needs to be chunk-loaded. An unloaded controller means no connection no matter what cards you install.
  • If the terminal stops working after a while, check whether the chunks around your controller are being kept loaded by a chunk loader.
