Ae2 Overclocked FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get my first Parallel Card?
You need to craft a Parallel Card using materials available in late-game AE2 progression. Check the crafting recipes in JEI or NEI to see what components you need for the tier you want to start with.
Can I put multiple Parallel Cards in one machine?
No, you can only install one Parallel Card tier per machine at a time. If you try to add a second one, it won't work.
What's the difference between the card tiers?
Each tier processes more items simultaneously: x2 processes 2 items at once, x8 processes 8, x64 processes 64 times faster, x1024 is even more powerful, and the Max tier has a custom limit. Higher tiers require more materials and power to craft and use.
Do Parallel Cards work on machines from other mods?
Yes, they work with machines from Extended AE and Advanced AE, plus some other addon machines. Check the mod's compatibility list or test with your specific machines to be sure.
Will using high-tier cards drain my power really fast?
Yes, higher-tier Parallel Cards consume significantly more power. You should expand your energy buffer with upgrade cards and ensure your power generation can handle the increased demand before using the highest tiers.
Can I use Parallel Cards on Import and Export Buses?
Yes, you can install Parallel Cards into Import Buses and Export Buses to speed up item transfers between your ME Network and external inventories.
What happens if I don't have enough power for a Parallel Card?
The machine will slow down or stop processing until you generate enough power. The card won't break, but you won't get the speed benefit until your power supply catches up.
Do Parallel Cards work with the Inscriber?
Yes, the Inscriber is one of the primary machines you can upgrade with Parallel Cards. Open its interface and place the card in the upgrade slot.
Should I use Parallel Cards or Overclock Cards?
They serve different purposes: Parallel Cards process multiple items at once, while Overclock Cards force recipes to finish in one tick. You can use both together in machines that have multiple upgrade slots for even better performance.
Why is my machine not accepting the Parallel Card I'm trying to install?
Make sure the machine is actually supported by this mod—not all AE2 machines work with these cards. Also check that you don't already have another Parallel Card tier installed, since only one can be active at a time.
