How to Search Advancements by Title, Description, or Icon

The search bar in the advancements window behaves much like the creative inventory search, but it also understands prefixes that let you narrow down exactly which field you want to match. This is the fastest way to find a specific advancement when you only remember part of its text.

Using the Prefixes

Open your advancements screen and click into the search field. Type one of the following prefixes followed by your keyword:

  • title: matches only the advancement's name.
  • description: matches only the flavor text under the name.
  • icon: matches the item name of the icon shown for the advancement.

For example, typing icon: diamond returns every advancement whose icon is a diamond-related item, while title: nether returns advancements with "nether" in their name only. Without a prefix, the mod searches all three fields at once.

Reading the Results

Results appear in a grid sorted by advancement type — tasks, goals, and challenges are grouped separately. Click any result to jump to and highlight that advancement in the tree. If your search is too broad, add a second keyword or switch to a prefix to cut down the list.
