Advancements Search Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the advancement search bar?
Open your advancements window like normal, then look for the search field added by the mod. Type your keyword there and the results grid will populate as you type.
What does the search actually look through?
It searches advancement titles, descriptions, and the names of items used as advancement icons. So you can find an advancement even if you only remember the item shown on it.
How do I search only in titles?
Type title: followed by your keyword, like title: diamond. This limits the search to advancement titles only and ignores descriptions and icon items.
How do I find an advancement by the item shown on it?
Use the icon: prefix followed by the item name, for example icon: cake. The mod will return advancements whose icon matches that item.
Can I combine multiple search terms?
Yes, you can mix prefixes and plain keywords in one search. For example, title: mine description: deep will look for advancements matching both parts.
What happens when I click a search result?
Clicking a result highlights that advancement in the advancements tree so you can see where it sits. You still need to navigate the tree normally to view its details.
Why does my search return nothing even though I know the advancement exists?
Check for typos and remember that plain search only matches titles, descriptions, and icon item names. If you used a prefix like title: or icon:, make sure the keyword fits that field.
Does this mod work on servers or only in singleplayer?
It is a client-side mod, so it works wherever you can open the advancements screen, including on servers. The server does not need the mod installed.
Will this mod slow down my game?
The search runs only when you open the advancements window and type, so it has no meaningful impact during normal gameplay. Performance is generally fine even with many advancements loaded.
Is the search case-sensitive?
No, you can type in lowercase or uppercase and it will still match. Just focus on spelling the keyword correctly.
