Advancement Screenshot Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn the mod on?
There's nothing to enable — the mod is active as soon as it's installed on the client. Just play normally and a screenshot will be captured automatically the next time you earn an advancement.
Why didn't it take a screenshot when I got an advancement?
The mod waits about a second after the advancement triggers before capturing, so give it a moment. If nothing appears, check that the advancement actually completed and that your screenshots folder isn't full or read-only.
Does this mod work on servers?
Yes. It's client-side only, so it works on any multiplayer server even if the server doesn't have the mod installed. You just need it on your own client.
Will other players know I'm using this mod?
No. The mod runs entirely on your client and doesn't send anything to the server, so it's invisible to other players and to server-side anticheat.
Where do the screenshots go?
They're saved to the same screenshots folder the F2 key uses, inside your Minecraft installation directory. The mod reuses the vanilla screenshot code, so there's no separate folder to hunt for.
Can I change the delay before the screenshot is taken?
The delay is built in to give the advancement toast time to appear in the corner. There's no in-game setting for it, so treat the timing as fixed.
Why is the advancement popup not showing in my screenshot?
The delay is meant to let the toast appear, but if your game is lagging or the toast is still fading in, it may be missed. Try again on a smoother-running world if the timing looks off.
Does it take a screenshot for every single advancement, including recipes?
Yes, any advancement you earn triggers a capture, including small ones like recipe unlocks. If you only want the big moments, you'll need to sort through the folder afterward.
Will this mod slow down my game?
No noticeable impact. It only does work at the moment an advancement fires, and the screenshot itself is the same operation as pressing F2.
Can I use this alongside other screenshot or recording mods?
Yes, it doesn't conflict with other client-side mods since it just hooks into the advancement event and calls the vanilla screenshot function. Just be aware multiple mods may write to the same screenshots folder.
