How to Hide Certain Advancement Types (Tasks, Goals, Challenges)
Why Filter by Type
Minecraft sorts advancements into three tiers: tasks, goals, and challenges. Tasks fire constantly during normal play, goals are rarer milestones, and challenges are the hardest accomplishments. If your screen fills with task pop-ups every few minutes, filtering is the fix.
Finding the Toggle
Open the Advancement Plaques config through your mod list or config folder. Look for a section listing the three advancement types. Each type has its own on/off switch. The mod is designed so you can selectively display any combination of the three.
Choosing What to Keep
A common setup is to disable tasks entirely and keep goals and challenges, so you only see plaques for meaningful progress. If you are hunting advancements deliberately and want constant feedback, leave all three on. If you only care about the hardest content, keep challenges alone.
Verifying the Filter
After saving, trigger an advancement of a type you disabled and confirm no plaque appears. Then trigger one you kept enabled and confirm it does. Note that this filter affects only the plaque display — the advancement itself is still awarded and still appears in the advancements menu. You are hiding the notification, not the progress.
Modded Advancements
Because the mod reads advancement data from the game rather than a fixed list, advancements added by other mods are also sorted into these types and filtered the same way.
