How to Add Ores from Other Mods to Advanced XRay
Why Modded Ores Need Manual Entry
Advanced XRay ships with vanilla blocks, but ores added by other mods are not automatically included. You have to register them yourself using the block list.
Finding the Correct Block ID
Open the block selection screen and use the search field. Type part of the ore's name as it appears in-game, such as the metal or gem it drops. Modded blocks usually follow a naming pattern like <modid>_<material>_ore, so searching the material name is often enough. If the search returns nothing, the block may be registered under a different name — check the mod's own documentation or look at the block while holding a debug tool that shows block IDs.
Adding and Organising Multiple Ores
Add each ore one at a time, assigning a distinct colour per material so you can tell them apart at a glance. Group related ores — for example all ores from one mod — using similar shades. Once added, toggle them on and verify they highlight correctly by walking near a known deposit. If a modded ore shares a texture or name with a vanilla one, add both entries separately to be safe. Remember that blocks from mods you later remove will remain in your list but simply never match anything.
