Detect and Investigate Alternate Accounts

Identify Accounts Sharing an IP

When you suspect a player is using multiple accounts, run /alts <player> to instantly see all other player accounts that have logged in from the same IP address. This reveals ban evasion attempts and coordinated rule-breaking.

Cross-Reference with History

After identifying potential alts, use /history <player> on each account to compare their punishment records. Similar infractions or coordinated timing may indicate the same person operating multiple accounts.

Take Action on Confirmed Alts

Once you've confirmed an alternate account, apply appropriate sanctions. Use /tempban, /mute, or /sanction on the alt account with a reason noting it's linked to the primary account. Document the connection in your reasoning.

Monitor New Connections

Regularly check /alts on flagged players to catch new accounts before they cause problems. This proactive approach prevents repeat offenders from circumventing previous punishments and maintains server integrity.
