Adistira Shaders FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I enable the shader after installing it?
Open Options > Video Settings > Shaders, then locate and select Adistira Shaders from the list. Click Apply and the shader will activate immediately in your world.
Why do my shadows look striped or banded?
Shadow banding occurs when shadow resolution is too low for your scene complexity. Open the shader settings and increase shadow map resolution or enable shadow filtering options to smooth out the banding effect.
Can I adjust how reflective water looks?
Yes—access the shader options menu and look for water reflection settings, where you can control reflection intensity, clarity, and how much of the sky reflects on the water surface.
What should I do if the mod is making my game lag?
Try disabling volumetric clouds, lowering shadow resolution, or reducing TAA quality in the shader settings. You can also lower your render distance or disable custom skies to improve performance while keeping core lighting effects.
Do the custom skies work in the Nether and End?
Yes, Adistira includes custom sky designs for all three dimensions—the Overworld, Nether, and End each have their own unique appearance that you can customize through the shader options.
Why do blocks and items look blurry or shimmery?
This is TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing) smoothing jagged edges, which can sometimes cause a subtle blur. You can reduce TAA intensity in the shader settings if you prefer sharper visuals over smoother edges.
Is this shader compatible with other visual mods like Sodium?
Adistira works best with Iris Shader Loader, which allows shaders to run alongside optimization mods like Sodium. Check that you have Iris installed and that Adistira is properly loaded through it.
How do I make the clouds thicker or change their appearance?
Open the shader settings menu and find the volumetric cloud options, where you can adjust cloud density, thickness, and how they interact with lighting throughout the day.
Can I turn off specific features like shadows or reflections?
Yes—the shader options menu lets you disable individual features like soft shadows, water reflections, or custom skies independently while keeping the rest of the shader active.
Why do colors look washed out or oversaturated?
Adistira uses ACES tonemapping to balance colors, but you can fine-tune color grading and exposure settings in the shader options to match your preferred look.
