Resize a player or mob: width, height, hitbox scale and model scale
The mod has three size controls that are easy to confuse. Each one has a width and a height version, plus an overall scale for some.
What each one changes
- Width / Height change the entity's real size. This affects the space it needs, so a smaller player can fit through tighter gaps.
- Hitbox scale (with width and height versions) changes the box used for collisions and for hitting the entity. The model does not change.
- Model scale (with width and height versions) changes only how the entity looks. Its collisions and hit detection stay the same.
Try it
1. Tab-complete /attribute @s and pick the scale attribute you want.
2. Run get to see the current value.
3. Set a new value with base set. Use a number below the current value to shrink and above it to grow.
4. Look at yourself in third person with F5 to check the result.
Practical uses
- Shrink the hitbox but not the model to make a mob harder to hit.
- Enlarge the model alone for a giant-looking mob that still fits through doors.
- Change the real width and height together to fit a one-block gap.
If you get stuck in blocks after growing, set the value back, or teleport out first. Change values in small steps and keep the original number written down.
