Additional Entity Attributes Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I check one of the new attributes on myself?
Run /attribute @s followed by the attribute name and then get. Press Tab after typing the mod's namespace to see the exact IDs of water speed, lava speed, jump height and the rest, so you don't have to guess spellings.
How do I change an attribute permanently with a command?
Use /attribute @s base set . This changes the base value, so it stays until you set it again. Change one attribute at a time and check it with get before stacking more changes.
What's the difference between setting a base value and adding a modifier?
A base set overwrites the starting value. A modifier is a separate entry layered on top, so you can add it and later remove it by its ID without losing the original value. Use modifiers for temporary boosts.
How do I make myself or a mob bigger or smaller?
The mod has separate attributes for actual size, hitbox scale and model scale, each with width and height variants. Raising only the model scale changes how the entity looks and leaves collisions alone. To change how it fits through gaps and gets hit, change the size or hitbox attributes.
I changed the model scale but the hitbox didn't change. Is it broken?
No, they are independent attributes. Model scale is visual only, and hitbox scale only affects the collision and hit area. Set both if you want them to match.
How do I swim or move faster in water or lava?
Raise the water speed or lava speed attribute on yourself, either with a base set or a modifier. Test small changes first, since large values can make movement hard to control.
How do I stay underwater longer or see better while diving?
Raise lung capacity to get extra air before you start drowning. Water visibility controls how thick the underwater fog is, so adjusting it changes how far you can see below the surface.
How do I make hostile mobs notice me less (or more)?
Change the mob detection range attribute on the player. Lowering it means hostile mobs have to get closer before they notice you, and raising it makes them spot you from further away.
Why did my attribute value reset or stop working after I died or relogged?
Modifiers added with commands may not carry over after death, depending on how they were applied. Re-apply them, or use a base set if you want the value to be more lasting. Also check you targeted the right entity with your selector.
Does this mod do anything by itself, and does it work with other mods?
On its own it only adds the attributes, so you won't see changes until you apply them with commands or another mod or datapack uses them. Mods can register these attributes on their own entities, and having it installed on both the client and the server is the safest setup for the visual and size attributes.
