How to Tune Each Module for Your Modpack

Adaptive Performance Tweaks ships as a bundle of modules, and each one has its own config. Tuning them individually lets you keep the optimizations you want without side effects you do not.

Understanding the Modules

Core is required and handles the adaptive engine itself. Game Rules adjusts vanilla game rule values dynamically. Items manages item-related cleanup and behavior. Player handles player-side tweaks. Spawn controls mob spawning adjustments. Each module can be enabled or disabled independently in its config file.

A Practical Tuning Approach

Start with only Core enabled and run your server for a while. Note your TPS during peak hours. If TPS is stable, you may not need the other modules. If you see drops caused by too many dropped items, enable Items. If mob spawning is overwhelming the server, enable Spawn. Enable one module at a time and observe the effect before adding another.

Adjusting Thresholds

Inside each module's config you will find thresholds that determine when the mod acts. Raising a threshold makes the mod less aggressive; lowering it makes it react sooner. Change one value at a time and restart, so you can tell which change caused which result. Avoid setting thresholds extremely low, as the mod may constantly toggle settings and cause instability.
