How to Install and Configure Adaptive Performance Tweaks on Your Server

Adaptive Performance Tweaks is a server-side mod, so it only needs to be installed on the server — clients do not need it. Drop the mod file into your server's mods folder and start the server once to generate the config files.

Locating the Config Files

After the first launch, look inside your server's config directory for a folder named after the mod. You will find separate config files for each module: Core, Game Rules, Items, Player, and Spawn. Core is required; the others are optional and can be disabled if you do not want their behavior.

Basic Setup

Open the Core config first. This is where the mod's main adaptive logic lives — it watches your server's tick time and adjusts settings when things get heavy. Enable the modules you actually want. If you run a large modpack and only care about TPS smoothing, Core alone may be enough. If you want the mod to also manage item cleanup, player-related tweaks, or spawn behavior, enable those modules individually.

Save your changes and restart the server. Watch the console for any config errors. Once running, the mod will begin adapting automatically — you do not need to issue commands for it to work.
