Abyssal Heights Legacy FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to create a new world to see the new biomes and caves?
Yes, the expanded world generation only applies to newly created Overworlds. Existing worlds will keep their original terrain unless you've configured the mod to enable it for them before world creation.
What's the best way to find lush caves?
Dig down below Y=0 and explore horizontally; lush caves generate throughout the deepslate layers and are recognizable by their moss blocks, glow berries, and azalea bushes. Use the /cncbiome command to confirm you're in a lush cave biome.
How do I collect axolotls from caves?
Find axolotls spawning in water pools inside lush caves, then use a water bucket on them to pick them up—they'll stay in the bucket until you place them in a new water source.
Can I use this mod with my existing single-player world?
The mod's world generation features won't retroactively change old terrain, but you can still access new blocks and items in existing worlds if you explore ungenerated chunks or use creative mode.
What should I wear when exploring powder snow areas?
Wear leather boots to avoid sinking into powder snow; without them, you'll freeze and sink if unprotected, and heavy armor will trap you even faster.
How do I get tinted glass and spyglasses?
Mine amethyst geodes deep underground to collect amethyst shards and budding amethyst blocks, then use the shards to craft tinted glass and combine them with other materials for the spyglass.
Do copper blocks need maintenance?
Copper oxidizes through four weathering stages over time, but you can scrape it back to an earlier stage with an axe or prevent oxidation entirely by applying honeycomb with a right-click.
Where do I find deepslate ores and raw metals?
Deepslate ore bands generate below Y=0 alongside raw metal ores; mine them with an iron pickaxe or better to collect the raw materials for smelting.
Can I use this mod on a multiplayer server?
Yes, but all players must have the mod installed, and the server's world.enableForNewOverworlds setting controls whether new worlds use the expanded generation.
What's the difference between dripstone caverns and lush caves?
Dripstone caverns feature stalactites, stalagmites, and water mechanics for filling cauldrons, while lush caves are filled with vegetation like moss, glow berries, and azalea bushes—they're separate biome types found at different depths.
