How to Make Lightning Look Bigger and More Fantasy-Like in AAA Particles Mod

Understanding the Default Effect

AAA Particles Mod ships with a built-in Effekseer effect that replaces vanilla lightning the moment you install it. You do not need to enable anything in a config screen for the default look to appear — just load a world during a thunderstorm and watch a strike. The default effect is intentionally oversized and bright, with branching bolts radiating outward, so if lightning still looks vanilla, the most common cause is a resource pack or another mod overriding the lightning renderer.

Confirming the Effect Is Active

1.

2. Stand a safe distance from where lightning is likely to strike, ideally in an open flat area.

3. Watch a strike and compare it to vanilla: the mod's version is much larger, brighter, and has small side-bolts spraying in different directions.

4. If it looks unchanged, temporarily disable other visual/particle mods and resource packs, then test again.

Adjusting the Look

Because the effect is an Effekseer file, the way to change its size, color, or brightness is to swap or edit the effect resource itself rather than tweak a slider. If you only want the default fantasy look, no further action is required — the mod is client-side, so it works on any server without server-side installation.
