AAA Particles Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I make the lightning look bigger or more fantasy-like?
The mod already replaces vanilla lightning with its default Effekseer effect, so the dramatic look is on by default. To change the size or style, swap in your own Effekseer effect file rather than editing the built-in one.
How do I add my own custom particle effect with Effekseer?
Create your effect in the Effekseer tool, export it, and place the effect file where the mod loads its effects. Because the mod removes the need to rename textures, you can keep your resource names as-is and just point the effect at them.
How do I replace the vanilla lightning with my own effect?
Set your exported Effekseer effect as the one the mod uses for lightning, so it plays instead of the default. Keep a backup of the original effect file if you want to switch back later.
Does this mod work on a server, or is it client-side only?
It's client-side only, so you don't need to install anything on the server. You can join a normal server and still see the custom lightning on your own screen.
Will other players see my custom lightning effect?
No, because the mod runs only on your client. Only players who also have the mod and the same effect installed will see it.
My custom effect isn't showing up — what did I do wrong?
The most common causes are an effect file that wasn't exported correctly from Effekseer or one placed in the wrong location. Double-check the export and that the file is where the mod expects to load effects from.
Do I need to rename my textures for the effect to work?
No, that's one of the things this mod handles for you. You can keep your original resource names and the mod will resolve them.
Is AAA Particles Mod compatible with other mods that change lightning or particles?
It can conflict with mods that also override vanilla lightning, since both try to control the same effect. If lightning looks wrong or missing, test with those mods removed to isolate the conflict.
Will big custom effects hurt my FPS?
Large, bright effects with many particles can cost performance, especially during storms with frequent strikes. If you notice lag, use a lighter effect or reduce how often it plays.
Can I use this mod for effects other than lightning?
Yes, the mod supports custom particle effects made with Effekseer beyond just lightning. You can apply your own effects wherever the mod lets you assign them.
