Understand the Rolling Animation Speed
How Rolling Works
When you shoot an arrow or firework rocket, it now displays a rolling animation as it flies. This animation isn't just visual—it's directly tied to the projectile's velocity. Faster projectiles roll faster, while slower ones roll more slowly.
Observe Different Speeds
Shoot arrows from different sources to see the effect:
- Bow shots produce moderate rolling speed
- Crossbow shots (especially with Power enchantments) create faster rolling
- Arrows affected by gravity slow down as they fall, and the rolling animation slows with them
Why This Matters
The rolling animation serves as a visual indicator of your projectile's current speed. This helps you judge whether an arrow still has enough velocity to reach distant targets. As arrows lose momentum and drop, you'll see the rolling slow down in real-time, giving you better feedback on projectile behavior than the original 3D model provided.
