2D Projectiles Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to do anything after installing the mod?
No, the mod works immediately after installation with default settings. Arrows will display as flat 2D textures and gain a rolling animation automatically.
Why are my arrows pointing the wrong direction?
Different texture packs define arrow rotation differently. Open the config file and adjust the direction setting for your arrow type until it points correctly in flight.
How does the rolling animation speed work?
Arrows and firework rockets roll faster when traveling at higher velocities and slower when moving more gradually. This creates a visual effect that matches their actual speed.
Can I turn the critical hit particles back on?
Yes, open the config file and disable the option that removes critical hit particles. The sparkle effects will reappear on critical strikes.
Do firework rockets look different with this mod?
Yes, firework rockets appear larger and completely flat (2D) instead of 3D models when shot from a crossbow, matching the style of arrows.
Will this mod work with my texture pack?
The mod works with all texture packs including vanilla, but custom arrow textures may point in the wrong direction until you adjust the config file for that specific pack.
Does this mod affect arrow damage or behavior?
No, the mod only changes how arrows look and animate. All damage values, flight physics, and mechanics remain completely unchanged.
Can I use this with other projectile mods?
Yes, this mod is compatible with other mods that add projectiles, though custom projectiles from other mods may not receive the 2D texture or rolling animation unless specifically configured.
Why do some arrows still show particles?
Only critical hit particles are removed by default. Other effects like trail particles from enchanted arrows or special arrow types will still display normally.
Does this mod affect performance?
The mod generally improves performance slightly by using simpler 2D models instead of 3D arrow geometry, and removing critical hit particles reduces visual clutter.
