How to speed up resource pack menu visits in a heavy modpack
In a large modpack, many mods ship their own textures, models, sounds and language files. A full resource reload can take a long time. This mod avoids the reload when it is not needed.
Build a faster routine
1. Open Options, then Resource Packs, only when you need to look at or change your packs.
2. Make all your pack changes in one visit. Enable, disable and reorder everything you want before you leave.
3. Click Done once. The game reloads one time, and only because something changed.
4. On later visits where you only check things, leave without moving any packs. The reload is skipped.
Avoid unneeded reloads
- Do not drag packs back and forth to test them. Each change that leaves a different arrangement makes the game reload.
- If you just want to check what is active, look at the lists and then leave with Esc, Done or Cancel where it is available.
- Plan your pack order before you start, so you do not have to reorder it repeatedly.
The more mods and built-in resources you have, the more time you save each time you open the screen and change nothing.
