Adjust Zombie Horror Shader Intensity for Your System
Check Your Current Performance
Before adjusting settings, open the shader options menu while in-game. Press the key bound to open shader settings (usually accessible through your loader's menu). Monitor your frame rate in different lighting conditions—night scenes with many mobs will be most demanding.
Reduce Visual Effects
If you're experiencing lag, look for options to disable or lower:
- Film grain intensity — reduces the grainy texture overlay applied at night
- Eye glow brightness — dims the red glow on zombie and creeper eyes without removing it entirely
- Color wash strength — lessens the desaturated, washed-out appearance if it's causing performance issues
Test in Different Environments
Spend time in caves, forests at night, and near mob spawners to see how the shader performs under heavy mob load. Adjust settings incrementally and save your configuration. If the mod still feels too heavy, consider using a simpler shader alongside Zombie Horror, or enabling performance-focused render distance settings in your main game options.
