How to Cast Magic Projectiles with Spellbooks

Converting Crossbows into Spellbooks

The resource pack transforms crossbows into magical spellbooks that fire colorful projectile bursts instead of arrows.

Steps:

1. Obtain a standard crossbow

2. Rename it in an anvil to a spellbook name (such as Crimson Codex, Majestica, or Blazing Tales)

3. Equip the renamed crossbow in your main hand

4. The item model changes to display as an ornate spellbook

5. Load the crossbow with arrows as normal (arrows act as the casting medium)

6. Draw and fire—colorful firework projectiles burst from the spellbook instead of standard arrows

Spellbook Mechanics

Spellbooks function identically to crossbows in terms of mechanics: they require arrows to fire, have the same draw time, and deal comparable damage. The visual transformation is purely cosmetic, but the projectile effects create a magical appearance. Different spellbook names may produce different colored projectile effects, so experiment with various fantasy book names to find visual combinations you prefer.
