Getting Started with Zephyr Starlight Shaders
Installation and Performance
Zephyr Starlight Shaders replaces Minecraft's default lighting with real-time path tracing, creating realistic shadows, colored light, and reflections. Before installing, ensure your graphics card is strong enough—this shader performs heavy calculations every frame.
Once active, you'll notice sharper shadows from the sun and softer shadows near light sources like torches and lava. Water and metallic blocks will reflect their surroundings like mirrors. Blocks display physical depth and texture detail through PBR material reading.
If performance drops significantly, your hardware may struggle with the path tracing math. Consider lowering render distance or checking your graphics card specifications against the mod's requirements.
