The Princess Zelda totem functions identically to the vanilla Totem of Undying—it's purely a visual replacement. Hold it in your off-hand slot (secondary hand) while you fight bosses or face dangerous situations. You can also hold it in your main hand, but keeping it in your off-hand lets you use weapons or tools while the totem stays ready.

Triggering the Life-Saving Effect

When you take damage that would kill you, the totem automatically activates. You'll see the Princess Zelda model glow and animate as the totem consumes itself to save your life. The effect restores your health, removes negative status effects, and grants you temporary invulnerability.

Tips for Boss Fights

Always carry a totem into high-stakes encounters like the Ender Dragon or Wither. The visual change to Princess Zelda doesn't affect how the item works—it triggers at the exact same moment as vanilla totems. Keep multiple totems in your inventory so you have backup protection if the first one activates. Position yourself carefully so you don't fall into lava or off a cliff after the totem saves you, since you'll still be vulnerable to environmental hazards.
