What Changed About Desert Wells

YUNG's Extras replaces the vanilla desert well with a larger, more detailed well structure. Instead of a tiny 5x5 ring, you get a proper multi-block well with more surrounding detail, which makes it far easier to notice while crossing a desert. They still generate in desert biomes, so any long desert trek is a chance to find one.

Looting a Well

Wells are small structures, so the loot is limited but reliable:

• Walk the full perimeter first — the improved well has more blocks around the rim, and details or containers can sit on any side.
• Check the area immediately around the well, not just the well itself; sand often buries part of the structure.
• Bring a shovel to clear buried edges and a few blocks to bridge over if the well sits in a hollow.

Using Wells as Landmarks

Because the improved well is bigger and more distinctive than vanilla, it works well as a navigation marker. When you find one:

• Note its coordinates or drop a torch/banner so you can return.
• Use it as a meeting point or a rest stop with a chest and bed nearby.
• If you are mapping a desert, wells make convenient named waypoints between ruins, pillars, and outposts.
