How to Find and Loot Desert Ruins in YUNG's Extras
Where Desert Ruins Spawn
Desert Ruins generate across desert and sandy biomes, including modded desert variants. They are small, partially buried sandstone-and-sandstone-brick structures, so they blend into the terrain and are easy to walk past. Travel in straight lines across a desert rather than wandering randomly — ruins are spaced out, so a consistent heading covers more ground. Climbing a dune or pillar to scan the horizon also helps, since ruin walls often poke above the sand.
What You Get From Them
Desert Ruins are early-game loot stops, not dungeons. Expect a small cluster of blocks with a loot container or two rather than a full building. Break in through the top or side if sand has buried the entrance, and check every corner — chests can sit in side rooms or under collapsed sections. Bring a shovel to dig out buried parts and a stack of blocks to bridge over pits.
Practical Tips
- Mark ruins you find with torches or a banner so you can spot them again from a distance.
- Ruins are common enough that you can chain several in one trip; carry an empty shulker or extra inventory space.
- If you play with other structure mods, ruins can spawn near them, so sweep the area around any large desert structure you visit.
