What's Different About the Better End Island (and How to Navigate It)

A Redesigned End

If you've fought the Ender Dragon in vanilla, this mod's main island will feel familiar but rearranged. The overall layout is overhauled, so don't rely on muscle memory from vanilla when you arrive.

Key changes to expect:

• Redesigned obsidian pillars — the towers holding the End Crystals look different, so scan the island carefully to spot all of them before engaging.
• New End gateways — the gateways that take you to the outer islands have a new design and placement.
• A new spawn platform — where you arrive after entering the End portal is different from vanilla.
• A different exit portal — the portal that appears after defeating the dragon has been changed.
• A central tower — this is the new focal point of the island and the trigger for the dragon fight.

Getting Oriented

When you first arrive, take a moment to look around before moving. The central tower is your landmark — it's both where the dragon is summoned and where you'll place crystals to resummon it later. The redesigned pillars surround it as usual.

Because the dragon only spawns when you approach the tower, you have time to explore the new layout safely on your first visit. Use that window to plan your route, note pillar positions, and set up a safe spot before triggering the fight.
