How to Load and Apply a Custom Model to Your Player in Yes Steve Model

Getting the Model Files In Place

Yes Steve Model reads models from a dedicated folder inside your Minecraft instance, not from the resource pack menu. Drop the model folder or model archive you downloaded into that directory, then fully restart the game — the mod scans the folder at startup, so hot-loading usually will not pick up new files.

Applying the Model In-Game

Once the game is running:

1. Open the model selection screen (the mod adds its own keybind and a button in the pause/inventory UI — check your controls menu if you have not bound it).

2. Browse the list of detected models. Each entry shows a preview of the model and its animation set.

3. Click the model you want and confirm. Your player entity swaps to that model immediately, including its idle, walk, and attack animations.

4. If the model does not appear in the list, the folder structure is wrong — most models expect their own subfolder containing the model file plus its textures and animation files, so do not scatter loose files directly in the root.

If Nothing Shows Up

Confirm the model is for the correct game version, and check that you are not trying to load a server-restricted model without permission. Models flagged as private will refuse to apply for unauthorized players.
