How to Use MultiRod and Break Protection with XPlus Autofish

Setting Up Your Hotbar

MultiRod lets the mod cycle through fishing rods in your hotbar automatically. Place several rods in consecutive hotbar slots before you start fishing. When the active rod breaks or runs out of durability, the mod switches to the next one without you touching the keyboard. Keep at least one spare rod in the hotbar at all times, otherwise fishing stops when the last rod is gone.

Protecting Enchanted Gear

Break protection prevents the mod from using a rod that is nearly broken, so your enchanted rods are not destroyed. Enable it in the config screen. The mod will skip any rod below its safety threshold and move to the next available one. If every rod in the hotbar is below the threshold, fishing pauses until you repair or replace one.

Practical Tips

Order your hotbar so your best enchanted rod is first and cheaper backup rods follow. This way the mod uses the good rod until it is nearly broken, then falls back to spares. If you notice the mod skipping a rod you want to use, lower the break protection threshold or repair that rod. Combine MultiRod with Persistent mode for long AFK sessions where you cannot manually swap rods.
