How to Run Multiple Minecraft Instances Sharing One Xaero Map

Why Share Map Data

Anarchy players often run multiple accounts or instances at once — one main, one scouting, one AFK. By default, two instances writing the same Xaero map files can conflict, causing lost chunks or corrupted regions. XaeroPlus adds safe concurrent read/write so all your instances contribute to and read from a single shared map.

Setting It Up

First, confirm every instance is running the same compatible versions of Xaero's World Map, Xaero's Minimap (or Better PVP), and XaeroPlus. Version mismatches between XaeroPlus and the Xaero mods will break the shared-map behavior.

Point each instance at the same Minecraft game directory, or at least the same Xaero map data folder, so they resolve to identical region files. Launch them one at a time the first time to let the map initialize cleanly, then you can run them together.

Things to Watch

Even with concurrent access, avoid having two instances saving the exact same region at the exact same moment during extreme travel — stagger your fast travel if you can. If you ever do see a corrupted or missing region, close all instances before repairing it so no process is mid-write. Keep backups of your map folder; shared access is safer than before but not a substitute for backups.

This setup is especially useful on anarchy servers where you want one account mapping a highway while another explores a separate axis.
