How to Fix Minimap Entity Dots and Use Arrow Mode Correctly

Entity Dots Not Showing

With arrow mode enabled on the minimap, entity dots (players, mobs, other markers) can render incorrectly or disappear. XaeroPlus includes a fix for entity dot rendering when arrow mode is active, so if you're still seeing broken or missing dots, make sure XaeroPlus is loaded and its minimap fixes are enabled in the XaeroPlus settings.

Adjusting Minimap Scale and Background

XaeroPlus lets you change the minimap scale so more chunks fit in the same on-screen space. If your entity dots look cramped or overlap, increasing the scale spreads them out. You can also switch the minimap background to transparent, removing the unused black area around the map circle. A transparent background makes dots and terrain easier to read against the game world, and it looks cleaner on screen.

Practical Tips

If dots still behave oddly, toggle arrow mode off and on to force a redraw, and check whether another minimap-related mod is overriding rendering. Remember that Xaero's Minimap can be swapped for Better PVP — if you use Better PVP, verify XaeroPlus is still applying its fixes on top of it. For anarchy play, keep entity dots enabled so you can spot other players approaching, and pair the transparent background with a slightly larger scale so nearby threats are visible at a glance.
