XaeroPlus Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

how do I open the XaeroPlus settings?
XaeroPlus adds its options into the existing Xaero's Minimap and World Map settings menus rather than a separate screen. Open the minimap or world map settings and look for the XaeroPlus section to find the performance and rendering toggles.
does XaeroPlus work without Xaero's minimap installed?
No, XaeroPlus is an add-on that depends on Xaero's World Map and Minimap, so it does nothing on its own. You need the matching Xaero versions installed, and each XaeroPlus build only works with one specific Xaero version.
can I use Better PVP instead of Xaero's minimap with XaeroPlus?
Yes, Xaero's Minimap can be swapped out for Better PVP while still using XaeroPlus. The World Map side still needs Xaero's World Map installed.
how do I make the minimap bigger to see more chunks?
Use the adjustable minimap scale option in the XaeroPlus settings to zoom the minimap out and fit more chunks in the same space. This is separate from the normal minimap zoom, so you can widen coverage without shrinking the map view.
why is my minimap so laggy / how do I get more FPS?
XaeroPlus limits how often the minimap redraws, which is the main source of the FPS boost. Lower the minimap render framerate in the XaeroPlus performance settings to trade a little smoothness for a large FPS gain.
why are chunks missing from my map when I travel fast?
At very high travel speeds the map can fail to save regions before you leave them, leaving holes. XaeroPlus uses fast map region saving to keep up, so make sure that option is enabled if you fly or boat quickly across the world.
can two Minecraft instances share the same Xaero map?
Yes, XaeroPlus allows multiple instances to read and write the same map data at once. Point both instances at the same map directory and they will update the shared map without corrupting it.
my entity dots look wrong when I use arrow mode, how do I fix it?
This is a known rendering bug that XaeroPlus fixes, so update to a XaeroPlus build matching your Xaero version. Once the fix is active, entity dots render correctly while arrow mode is enabled.
does the game keep rendering when I have the world map open?
With XaeroPlus the Minecraft world keeps rendering in the background while Xaero GUIs are open. This means the world doesn't freeze behind the map, which helps on servers where you need to stay aware of your surroundings.
why did XaeroPlus stop working after I updated Xaero's mods?
Each XaeroPlus version is built for one specific Xaero World Map and Minimap version, so updating Xaero without matching XaeroPlus breaks it. Install the XaeroPlus build that matches your Xaero version, or roll Xaero back to the supported one.
