Using the X Crosshair for Better Aim in PvP

The X shape gives you a clear center point, but you still have to train your eye to use it. Here is how to actually convert it into better aim.

Set up your practice

1. Join a practice server or a creative world with target blocks and armor stands.

2. Stand at a fixed distance and strafe left and right while keeping the exact intersection of the X on the target's head.

3. Because the X has no gap in the middle, your eye locks onto the crossing point rather than a hollow center. Use that point as your true aim reference, not the tips of the arms.

Build the habit

  • Do short bursts: track a moving target for a few seconds, reset, repeat. Long sloppy sessions build bad habits.
  • Practice both flicking (snap to target, then stop) and tracking (follow smoothly). The X helps more with tracking because the center never shifts.
  • If you use a bow or a projectile, remember the crosshair marks where you aim, not where the arrow lands; lead your shots as normal.

Keep sessions short and consistent. The crosshair only helps if your hand already knows where center is.
