Adjust shader quality to improve performance on your computer
Access the shader settings
Press the shader configuration key (usually O by default, but check your keybinds) while in-game to open the shader menu. This displays all available options for WpyQwq's Apex Shaders.
Select a quality preset
Locate the quality or performance preset section. The shader includes eleven different quality settings ranging from low-end to ultra settings. Choose a preset that matches your computer's capabilities:
- Lower presets reduce ray-traced illumination quality, disable some volumetric effects, and simplify cloud layers
- Higher presets enable full global illumination, detailed volumetric fog, and complex weather effects
Fine-tune individual settings
If a preset doesn't feel quite right, you can manually adjust specific features:
- Reduce ray tracing samples for faster performance
- Disable or lower volumetric fog intensity
- Simplify cloud layer count
- Lower shadow distance and resolution
After each change, the shader recompiles. Test your new settings in different lighting conditions—both day and night—to ensure smooth performance.
