How to Create a Protected Region with WorldGuard

Selecting the Area

WorldGuard regions are defined by two corner points. Stand at one corner of the area you want to protect and run /wand. This gives you the WorldGuard selection wand (usually a wooden axe). Left-click one corner block and right-click the opposite corner block. A wireframe outline appears showing your selection. If you need to expand or contract the selection, use /expand or /contract with a direction and amount, or /shift to move the whole selection.

Creating and Claiming the Region

Once your selection looks right, run /rg create <regionname>. Pick a short, memorable name with no spaces. The region is now defined but not yet restricted. To make it yours, run /rg addowner <regionname> <yourname> so you retain full control. To let trusted friends build, use /rg addmember <regionname> <playername>. Members can build but cannot change region flags or add other members. Owners can do everything. Verify your work with /rg info <regionname> to see the bounds, owners, members, and active flags. If you made a mistake, /rg redefine <regionname> updates the region to your current wand selection without losing owners or flags.
