How to See Your WorldEdit Selection In-Game

Making a Selection

WorldEditCUI is a client-side mod, so it does not add any commands of its own. You still make your selection using the normal WorldEdit commands on the server, and the mod simply draws the result as a wireframe outline in your world.

1. Join a server that has the WorldEdit plugin installed (or a singleplayer world with WorldEdit).

2. Use your usual selection commands, for example the wand tool or the //pos1 and //pos2 commands, to define a region.

3. As soon as the selection is registered, the outline appears around the selected blocks. You do not need to run any extra command to make it show up.

Reading the Outline

  • The wireframe marks the outer edges of your selection so you can confirm exactly which blocks are included before you run an operation.
  • For simple cuboid selections you get a box. For other selection types the shape changes to match, which is the main reason the mod is useful.
  • If nothing appears, check that you actually have an active selection and that the server is running WorldEdit.

Because the display is purely visual and client-side, other players do not see your outline and it has no effect on the server.
