Understand Chunk Preservation and Seed Reset

How Chunk Safety Works

The World Corruption Fixer Mod uses a two-part strategy: it keeps your old chunks while preparing new terrain for unmapped areas.

Chunk Preservation

All previously explored and built chunks are locked in place and protected during repair. Your bases, mines, farms, and any structures you created remain exactly as they were. The mod does not regenerate or alter these chunks.

Seed Reset for New Areas

For terrain that was never explored or built in, the mod forces the game to generate new chunks using a fresh world seed. This means:

  • Unmapped areas will have different terrain than before
  • New biomes, structures, and resources will spawn according to the new seed
  • You can explore beyond your old borders and find new content

Visual Result

You may notice a clear boundary between your old, familiar terrain and newly generated areas. This is intentional and expected. The boundary marks where your previous exploration ended and the new seed begins.

This design ensures your progress is never lost while allowing the game to function properly with your updated mod configuration.
