Improve Movement and Footwork in Combat
Positioning in the Arena
Movement is just as important as your weapon skill. Start by practicing basic positioning: strafe side-to-side to avoid the bot's attacks while maintaining your own attack range. The arena's open space lets you move freely without obstacles, so focus on smooth, controlled movement rather than panicked running.
Practicing Evasion Techniques
Instead of always blocking, try dodging by moving perpendicular to the bot's attacks. Backpedal when you need space, then move forward aggressively when you see an opening. Jump to avoid low sweeps and sidestep to dodge charged attacks. Each movement type has different uses depending on the situation.
Building Combat Flow
Combine your movement with your attacks. Practice approaching the bot, landing hits, then backing away before their counterattack connects. This approach-attack-retreat cycle is the foundation of good footwork. As you improve, tighten your spacing and reduce the time between your attacks and defensive repositioning. The goal is fluid, reactive movement that keeps you safe while maximizing your damage output.
