How to Fix WI Zoom Not Working or Feeling Too Sensitive

Zoom Key Does Nothing

1. Confirm the mod is actually loaded — check the mods list on the title screen.

2. Open Options → Controls → Key Binds and verify the zoom bind is not blank and not conflicting (conflicts show in red).

3. Check whether another mod has claimed the same key. Rebind one of them.

4. If you rebound the key, make sure you saved with Done rather than backing out.

Zoom Feels Too Fast or Too Slow

  • The mouse wheel changes magnification in steps; if it jumps too far, scroll more gently rather than flicking the wheel.
  • Lower your in-game mouse sensitivity if aiming while zoomed feels twitchy. High magnification magnifies cursor movement, so a sensitivity that feels fine normally can feel wild when zoomed.
  • Zoom in stages: get roughly the right level, release, reposition your view, then zoom again. This is easier than trying to aim at maximum magnification.

Camera Feels Wobbly

  • WI Zoom is specifically built to avoid the sway that some zoom mods add, so persistent wobble usually comes from another camera-affecting mod (head-bob, camera overhaul, shaders with camera effects). Temporarily disable those to isolate the cause.
  • Standing still removes almost all perceived wobble.

Performance

Extreme magnification does not load new chunks, but it does make distant geometry more visible. If framerate drops while zoomed, lower your render distance rather than blaming the zoom.
