WI Zoom Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start zooming with WI Zoom?
Hold the zoom key (V by default) and the camera will zoom in. While holding it, scroll the mouse wheel to change the magnification level.
Why does my zoom reset every time I let go of the key?
WI Zoom only applies magnification while the zoom key is held, so releasing it returns you to normal view. If you want a different level next time, scroll to it while still holding the key.
How do I zoom in and out smoothly instead of in steps?
Scroll the mouse wheel while the zoom key is held; the mod adjusts magnification continuously rather than snapping between fixed levels. Scroll up to zoom in further and down to zoom back out.
Can I change the zoom key from V to something else?
Yes. Open the game's Controls settings, find the WI Zoom keybind entry, and assign it to any key you like. If the new key conflicts with another mod or vanilla action, pick a different one.
Does WI Zoom need a spyglass to work?
No, the mod provides its own zoom independent of any item, so you can magnify distant objects with empty hands. A spyglass is still useful when you want its vanilla scoping behavior or are playing without the mod.
Why is my camera wobbling or shaking while zoomed?
WI Zoom is designed to avoid the wobbly camera effect common in other zoom mods, so heavy shaking usually comes from another mod or a conflicting zoom feature. Disable other zoom or camera mods and test again.
My zoom feels too fast or too sensitive when I scroll — how do I fix it?
Scroll more slowly and in smaller increments while holding the zoom key, since each wheel notch changes magnification. If another mod also binds the mouse wheel, unbind it there so only WI Zoom responds.
WI Zoom isn't working at all — what should I check?
Confirm the zoom key isn't rebound to a key already used by another action, and make sure no other zoom mod is installed alongside it. Also check that the mod is actually loaded for your current game instance.
Does WI Zoom work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, zoom is a client-side visual effect, so it works on servers without needing server-side installation. It only changes what you see and does not give you extra reach or information the server hides.
Does WI Zoom hurt performance or FPS?
Zooming itself is lightweight, but high magnification can make distant chunks and entities more demanding to render. If you notice stutter while zoomed, lower your render distance or reduce magnification.
