What The Bucket Mod: Fixing Bucket Loss in Crafting

How the Bucket Bug Works

In vanilla Minecraft, using a filled bucket as a crafting ingredient normally returns an empty Bucket when the recipe finishes. Older bucket types behave correctly, but several newer ones do not. When you craft with a Bucket of Pufferfish, Salmon, Cod, Tropical Fish, Axolotl, Tadpole, or a Powder Snow Bucket, the filled bucket is consumed and nothing is returned. You lose the bucket entirely.

What the Mod Changes

What The Bucket Mod corrects this behavior so every affected vanilla bucket converts into an empty Bucket after being used as an ingredient, matching the long-standing behavior of older buckets. No recipes or items are added; the mod only restores the expected return.

Multiplayer Behavior

The fix is applied server-side. If the mod is installed on a server, all connecting players benefit from the corrected behavior, even if they do not have the mod installed on their own client. This makes it useful for servers where players craft with fish buckets or powder snow buckets.
