Setting Up a Pet-Friendly Waystone Network on a Server
Server-Side Only Means Server-Side
This addon is required only on the server. That means the world owner installs it once and every player benefits — no client downloads needed. If pets are not teleporting for anyone, the addon is almost certainly missing from the server, not from players' clients.
Building the Network
1. Confirm with the server owner that the addon is loaded alongside the base Waystones mod.
2. Place Waystones at the locations players travel between most — spawn, bases, farms, and outposts.
3. Activate each stone once to register it in the network.
4. Tell players the rule of thumb: keep pets close and un-sat before using a stone.
Keeping It Smooth
- Put Waystones in open, flat areas so pets have room to gather before a teleport.
- Avoid placing stones right against walls or fences where following pets can get wedged.
- If a player reports a missing pet, have them re-check the origin stone first — pets that failed the radius check are usually still standing there.
- Because the addon changes default behavior, remind players they no longer need leads, which frees up inventory space for actual travel supplies.
