Fix Graphical Glitches on Wayland Linux
Identify Wayland-Related Issues
If you're experiencing visual bugs like flickering windows, broken taskbar icons, or rendering artifacts on Linux, you may be running under Xwayland compatibility mode instead of native Wayland.
Enable Native Wayland Rendering
WayGL Mod automatically detects and switches your game to use native Wayland rendering instead of the older X11 protocol. The mod handles this platform detection during startup—no manual configuration needed.
Once installed, launch Minecraft normally. The mod works silently in the background, forcing the LWJGL window system to communicate directly with Wayland rather than through the Xwayland translation layer.
Verify It's Working
Check your taskbar: the Minecraft icon should appear crisp and responsive without visual corruption. If you previously saw stuttering or graphical artifacts during gameplay, these should now be resolved. The game window should feel more responsive to your input and display smoother graphics overall.
If issues persist, ensure you're using LWJGL 3.3.2 or later, as older versions lack proper Wayland support.
