How to Stop Your Cape From Clipping Through Your Body or Elytra

Cape clipping is the most common complaint with cape physics mods: the fabric folds into your legs, your armour, or your elytra during certain animations. Wavey Capes includes bending improvements specifically designed to reduce harsh angles and clipping, but a few settings and habits make a big difference.

Adjusting the Physics to Reduce Clipping

1. Open the Wavey Capes config screen from your mods list.

2. Try a different cape style. Simulation V2 is the most dynamic and therefore the most likely to swing into your body during sharp turns. Classic and Simulation produce calmer motion that clips less.

3. If your config exposes a stiffness or bend strength option, increase stiffness. A stiffer cape bends less sharply and is less likely to pass through your model.

4. Reduce any sway or wave amplitude setting if one is available. Lower amplitude means smaller side-to-side movement.

Situations Where Clipping Still Happens

Clipping is most visible while sprinting, sneaking, riding a horse or boat, and flying with an elytra. If a particular animation still clips, switching to Classic for that play session is the simplest fix. Remember the mod is purely visual and client-side, so your choice affects only what you see — other players see your cape according to their own settings.
