How to Make Your Cape Look Good Underwater With Wavey Capes
Water is where most cape mods fall apart. A cape built for air physics tends to behave strangely once you submerge, either freezing in place or flapping as if you were still on land. Wavey Capes reworks its physics specifically for underwater movement, but you still need to know what to expect and how to tune it.
What Changes Underwater
When you enter water, the mod switches to a different set of physics rules. Instead of the free-swinging motion you get on land, the cape drifts and settles, following your swimming direction rather than flapping independently. This is intentional and is what makes the underwater look convincing.
Getting the Best Underwater Result
1. Choose Simulation V2 or Simulation for swimming. These styles have the most developed motion and show the underwater rework most clearly. Classic barely changes underwater because it only applies a simple bend.
2. Swim forward and then stop. Watch how the cape settles behind you instead of snapping back — that trailing behaviour is the reworked water physics at work.
3. If the cape feels too floaty or too heavy, check your config for a water or fluid physics toggle and any related strength slider, and adjust to taste.
4. Test in a deep body of water rather than a one-block puddle, since shallow water gives the physics little room to show the effect.
Because the mod is client-side, these changes are visible only to you.
