How to Configure Wavey Capes and Fix a Cape That Won't Move

If your cape hangs completely still after installing Wavey Capes, or moves in a way you dislike, the fix is almost always in the config screen or in how the cape is being rendered. Here is how to work through it.

Finding and Using the Config

1. Open the mods list from the main menu or pause menu, locate Wavey Capes, and open its configuration screen.

2. Confirm a cape style is actually selected. If the style option is set to something inert or the mod is disabled, the cape will render with vanilla behaviour.

3. Set the style to Simulation V2 to verify the mod is working at all — it produces the most obvious motion.

4. Apply and return to the game, then sprint and jump. The cape should react within a second or two.

If the Cape Still Doesn't Move

  • Make sure you actually have a cape equipped. The mod animates an existing cape; it does not grant you one.
  • Check whether another client-side mod is also modifying cape rendering. Two cape mods running together often cancel each other out, leaving a static cape.
  • Verify the mod is loaded for your current game instance, not just installed in a different profile.
  • Remember the mod is visual only. It will not change your cape on other players' screens, and it does not require server installation, so a server cannot be the cause of a static cape on your end.
