How to Play a YouTube Video on a Screen in Minecraft with WaterMedia
Getting the URL Ready
WaterMedia plays media from a URL, and the YouTube plugin's job is to make YouTube links actually resolve into a playable stream. Grab the standard watch link from your browser (the kind with watch?v= in it) or the short share link. You do not need to convert it to a direct file URL — the plugin handles extraction for you.
Feeding the URL to WaterMedia
Place your WaterMedia screen or display block, then open its configuration interface. Paste the YouTube URL into the media/URL field. Confirm and let the screen load. The first load can take a moment because the plugin has to reach out, extract the stream info, and hand it back to WaterMedia.
If It Does Not Start
- Check that the YouTube plugin is actually loaded alongside WaterMedia; without it, YouTube links will fail while direct media links still work.
- Re-paste the link if you copied it with extra tracking parameters or surrounding text.
- Try a different video to confirm the problem is the specific link and not the setup.
- Give it time on slow connections — extraction plus buffering is slower than a local file.
Once one video plays, you can reuse the same screen for other links by swapping the URL.
