Display Images from Online Sources
Using the Images API
WaterMedia Mod provides an image management system that handles downloading, caching, and rendering pictures from URLs. This is useful for displaying artwork, screenshots, or gallery content on in-game surfaces.
Steps
1. Identify your image source — WaterMedia supports Imgur galleries, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, and direct image URLs
2. Prepare the URL — Copy the direct link to the image or gallery
3. Configure in a compatible mod — Use a dependent mod's GUI or config to input the image URL
4. First load — The image downloads and caches locally. Subsequent loads use the cached version for faster performance
5. Rendering — The image appears on the in-game surface using WaterMedia's rendering system
Cache Management
Downloaded images are stored locally to reduce bandwidth and improve load times. The mod handles cache cleanup automatically, but you can manually clear cached files through your mod's configuration folder if needed.
