Customize Wave and Ripple Behavior
Access Wave Settings
Open your shader configuration panel and look for sections labeled "waves," "ripples," or "liquid dynamics." These control how water moves and deforms across the surface.
Adjust Wave Speed
Find the wave speed or animation speed parameter. Increasing this makes waves move faster and more frantically across the surface. Decreasing it creates slower, more gentle undulation that feels more realistic for calm water.
Control Wave Height and Amplitude
Locate amplitude or wave height settings. Higher values create more pronounced, dramatic waves that rise and fall noticeably. Lower values produce subtle, barely-visible ripples that maintain a calmer appearance.
Enable or Disable Directional Waves
Some shaders allow waves to flow in specific directions, simulating current. Check if your shader has directional wave options to make water feel more dynamic and natural.
Test in Different Conditions
Visit rivers, oceans, and still lakes to see how your wave settings affect each environment. Rivers naturally benefit from faster, directional waves, while lakes look better with gentle, uniform ripples.
